Born in Upper Bavaria, she has played the harp since childhood. Following
training in Munich and Zurich, the Tyrolean, Celtic, historical and modern harps
in the traditional, classical and contemporary musical genres have accompanied
her musical development. She particularly enjoys French impressionism with Ravel
and Debussy. She is also interested in European as well as other cultures, and
feels especially at home with Celtic music and culture.
Christine Högl is a harpist with international appearances and with
various programs selected for planetariums, churches and gardens. She has been
awarded international recognition and prizes for her compositions. She lives
with her husband, the harp maker Bernhard Schmidt, on Lake Constance in Germany.
